WHAT CAN METHOD WRITING DO FOR YOU?

It is easy to eliminate writers’ block. All you have to do
is write like you talk. The reason people find that difficult
is because it sounds too easy. So they start to write fancy
literary sentences and then get all tangled up. But all great
writers have at their core their own voice which reflects their
own personality, their own being, and their own unique self.

Good writing is first about process, not product. The creative
process often begins with a vague impulse, and not a scripted
outline. So, in method writing, we will learn how your own
authentic voice will lead you to the story you’ve been wanting
to tell all along. Sometimes, process is messy, but it is also as
easy as making mud pies! It just takes practice and a taste for
mud. If you can make a sentence you have begun . . .

JACK GRAPES – CREATOR OF METHOD WRITING 

Poet Jack Grapes is the celebrated author of “Method Writing,” a curriculum he has polished over five decades of teaching experience. He began to develop his approach to training writers when he realized that his experience with professional training in “method acting” and theatrical improvisation could successfully be applied to writing.
